I wonder what the crime rate is in the UK vs. the US.
I have one piece of advice for every American (well I actually have over a thousand but one will due for now).
Before you make up your mind about your political philosophy you need to travel.
The current ?crisis? in Britain is the man hunt for the Murderer of a Police Woman; this issue could bring down Tony Blair?s Administration.
Background:
Britain has this liberal feel good policy where they give money for food, clothes and housing to prisoners when they are released from jail. The premises is that these criminals, woops I mean rehabilitated citizens will use the money to get themselves a flat, a suit of clothes and a job and become good citizens. The reality is that most take the money and spend it on drugs and sex and end up back in jail, but as we know a good liberal never lets reality get in the way of policy.
Britain has this conservative policy where when an immigrant is released from jail they get deported back to the country they came from. The reality is that there are a number of liberal, woops I mean humanitarian organizations (read ACLU) that have gone to court protesting this policy claiming it?s an abuse of the criminal?s; woops I mean abused international refugee?s civil rights. It must be noted here that these organizations are funded by the government and as with all government agencies the more they stir up, woops I mean do the more funding they get
Britain is a liberal anti gun society, the police don?t care guns because the citizen?s don?t own guns but criminal immigrants, woops I mean abused international refugees come from some of the most war torn regions of the world and have been carrying full automatic weapons from the time they were 6 or 7 years old.
Players:
There is this criminal, woops I mean abused international refugee that came from Somalia about 10 years ago. This person has spent the better part of the last 10 years in British prisons for a number of robberies, some with associated violence.
There was this 38 year old mother of 4 who recently graduated from the police academy and was still in training.
What happened:
When the criminal, woops I mean abused international refugee was released from prison these liberal organizations went to court and stopped his deportation using the same bull shit excuse, woops I mean reasoning that the criminal, woops I mean abused international refugee used to get into Britain in the first place. Apparently this person was on the wrong side of some conflict and was marked for death is his home country. It was argued and won by the liberal; woops I mean humanitarian organizations that it would be against his civil rights to send him back to Somalia.
So does this person take his money, buy a suit and get a job? Of course not, he spends his money, gets together with other criminals; woops I mean abused international refugees and steals. Well one night whiles the criminals; woops I mean abused international refugees are conducting business in walks our newly crowned unarmed police officer and her partner. The officers of the law tell the criminals; woops I mean abused international refugees to stop and as they are British police they expect the criminals; woops I mean abused international refugees to act like British robbers. But as you now know the criminal; woops I mean abused international refugee is not British but Somali and he pulls out his guns and shoot the shit out of the officers.
The manhunt for the killer, woops I mean abused international refugee begins. Everyone is looking for him, Scotland Yard, MI5, 6 and 7, they have even called out the double Os but the killer, woops I mean abused international refugee has vanished. Now many days and many 1000?s of pounds later they have determined that the killer, woops I mean abused international refugee is hiding in Somalia
The fall out:
This case has brought to light fact that there are thousands of these criminals; woops I mean abused international refugees that have been let out of prision, not been deported, are running around England and no one knows where they are.

I have never heard of Court case you speak of and am intigued to know who this liberal orginisation is?

I can tell you that the people I have been talking with are pissed off. During lunch today the discussion was about some ultra right wing political parties that are gaining a lot of votes.
It?s interesting to me in that right now in Europe the US has the rap of being unpredictable, but historically it?s Europe where the political pendulum swings the greatest.
From an American standpoint the conversations I am hearing in the pubs and the news interviews on TV where people are saying out loud that anti immigration is not racism sound like something I would have heard in Germany or Italy in the 30s.
And where ever I go in the country who ever I speak to Everyone Has had enough of Crime and The ludicrous immigration policy this goverment has introduced.
Hate to say it but three terms has been to long and there will probably be a change next election, although the Conservatives are very weak.
